The Ideas Forum is popular. We can post an idea and others can vote for it. Bentley staff can change an idea's status to one of Needs Review, Future Consideration, Already Exists, Planned, Will Not Implement and Shipped. Those are mostly self-explanatory.
I've been notified recently by e-mail from Bentley Systems that one or two of my ideas have been Shipped. What does that mean? The current version of MicroStation is Update 15, released at the end of 2020. I'm writing this at the end of April 2021. The next MicroStation update isn't due until 2H21. So how can an idea be Shipped? Eduardo Lazzarotto, can you clarify?
Hello Jon,
Thank you for reaching out and I am sorry for the misunderstanding. We were linking your idea https://microstation.ideas.aha.io/ideas/MS-I-399 to a project today and that triggered a change to "shipped" accidentally. The correct status is "planned" as we are currently working on it. As soon as it is released you will get a notification regarding it being "shipped". I will check if we can add the link to the release announcement to the notification also.
Another idea marked as shipped was https://microstation.ideas.aha.io/ideas/MS-I-102. But this one wasn't bound to product releases, so we marked as shipped once completed.
And by the way, our latest update is 15.2 (last month), here the announcement: https://communities.bentley.com/products/microstation/f/microstation-announcements-forum/211327/microstation-connect-edition-update-15-2-10-15-02-11.
Have a great weekend!
Bet regards,
Eduardo L
