Hi all,
We have 2D files, on all elements Item Types are attached. When we use Stencil 2D elements on 3D Geomtery, all Item Types are lost! We want ot keep the Item Type data on the draped 3D elements. Is there a way to extract the Item Type data en attach the data later to the 3D elements?
Best regards
Mark

I think it's expected behavior, because when an element is projected on 3D element, the new one, of different type (mesh) is created.
But I think you question makes sense, so you can create a new Idea to extend to Stencil tool to maintain (copy) ItemTypes on draped element.

I think no such tool exists (yet?) in MicroStation. It looks like an idea of "clone tool" (match > apply). Maybe another Idea to be posted?
In the past I wrote some test code with similar functionality (I wanted to evaluate some concepts and learn API ;-), but as often, there was not enough time and real reason to work on it further and make enough stable production version.

if you do post an idea, I would suggest noting it here in this post for reference as well.
