This feature to execute startup script sounds promising.
So finally we have some replacement for MSBASIC to run startup commands without need for macros?
Explanation is not very clear as it mentions installation but if it will allow to attach some cell library as default using script each time program is started then it is great.
The startup scripts are just a list of key-in commands, not a MSBASIC replacement. If you create a command file with
RC=path\to\cell\file.cel
and set the startup script command-line option it should work (you have to enable the startup option in user prefs first).
requiring the use of a command line option is a bit restrictive. It means you need custom icons to launch microstation, if you use Projectwise you'll need to adjust the command line parameters there as well.
is there a reason this needs to be enabled thru user prefs ? I would think if the start up script is being used, that it would not be user specific.

I think because they're still testing it? It's considered tech preview at the moment.
I agree with Tim, this needs to be removed from the user prefs, which sometimes need to be replaced and added as a Variable path, so it can be defined.
