I have try many way to create a custom 3D linestyle with a mesh element and it's not working.
Are you sure you working with a mesh? Or the element is a parametric solid?
So is this a known bug?
It's a known issue trying to create 3d linestyle with parametric solids.
It was working fine in V8i SS4.
They don't work well with the new boolean operation kernel implemented in CE.
The reason I want to use mesh element is that when I drop the line it retain the 3D element as objects.
Probably you don't need a mesh, and you can convert them to smart solids.

If your objects are parametric solids you can also convert them to smart solids using Convert Solid in Search Ribbon or under Solids\Solid Utilities\Convert Solid.

Hope this helps and regards
