Hi
I have created a Label cell following Leonard's demo https://communities.bentley.com/products/microstation/m/microstation_gallery/271181 but when I place the label it is not reading the value from the object.
The value that I want the label to read is the tag in the Value property and is 1440-XV-1040.
Even if I use a leader line the text does not read from the object. I have found that I can reassign the text to the actual object that I want to link it to by opening Text Editor and right clicking on the text and selecting Reassign Field but this less than ideal.
Does this not work for referenced files? I have a model referenced into my 2D file so does that affect the functionality of the Label cell?
Thanks,
Justin
I Justin, Label cell works also with attached reference. Make sure that you followed all the steps that Leonard explains, created correctly the cell, and flagged regular and relative association. I have just tested it on my workstation. If you please share your file with me, I will try to investigate. Could I ask also which version of MicroStation are you using?
I leave you also a link to the Learn Server about this topic, maybe you could take a look only at the Annotating Designs (Place label) path:

Hello Benedetta,
Thanks for responding. I have attached the drawing, referenced model, and file where my Label is stored. I tried following the instructions again and created the label that is attached. When I place it in the sheet view of my drawing it does not want to grab the tag of the object that I attach it to. I'll take a look into the link that you provided to see if I am missing some steps as well.

Thanks again,
Forgot to state which version I am using. MicroStation CE Version 10.15.02.11.
Thank you Justin for your files. I would like to inform you that this issue resulted in a Bug 679772: Tags in cell are not updating when placing through ‘Place Label’. As we said I opened a ticket for you and you will be updated on this
Thank you for reporting the issue
