Hi,
I am currently using MicroStation Connect Edition, Version 10.14.02.01.
I was able to get Bing Background Maps from view attributes window. Is it possible to clip this background map to boundary. is there any alternate way clip the background maps to a boundary?
I appreciate all help.
Thanks

I believe there's no way to clip the Bing background map.
The solution is to attach the Bing Maps through Raster Manager dialog.

As Jose has mentioned, it is not possible to clip the Bing Map within the view via the View Attributes. You need to use Raster Manager which will have the Bing Map option once the GEO tag has been assigned to the file. What I have done in the past is to add the raster to a file then reference this into another file and then clip the reference.

When I try to clip background map it shows that reprojected maps can't be clipped.

This is correct, you need to attach it as a raster reference , then reference the DGN into another file and clip.
yep treat it as you would an ECW file> create a holding dgn raster ref attach the Bing map. then ref attach the Raster Holding file to your drawing and clip the ref file via the ref manager not the raster manager.. works for me.. but remember that others opening this drawing must have internet running will not display bing if no internet .. ( but not so for pdf of your drawing)

The problem I have with attaching the Bing file as a raster and then clipping, it takes over 45 minutes to then print the clipped image to a pdf. Also, using a bing image seems to be a live image which causes microstation to crash at least once a day.
To address the crash issue, kindly log a Service Case and share the Event and Crash logs. A sample DGN file and the steps to reproduce will help.

I already did, and your support staff told me because Caltrans is still using version 14, they would not help me.
Kindly share the Case number, we can check if the crash is reproducible in latest MicroStation 2023 version.
Note: MicroStation 2023 can be installed side by side along with Update 14.
