Good idea, but my experience is that - depending on notebook manufacturer - it can work fine, but can be risky, when anything not perfectly standard exists in notebook internal implementation...

I do not see anything obviously wrong, and even when I compared it with mine notebook, equipped with GeForce GTX1050, the numbers look similar.

Some differences exist:

Your driver is slightly newer

From the screen capture it seems you HW/SW configuration does not allow to use Hardware accelerated GPU scheduling.

But they are not reason for wrong display (even when sometimes specific Nvidia drivers causes problems in MicroStation in the past).

In general, laptop can never be as good as workstation, because both processor and graphics card are limited (unless "workstation laptop" machine is used). When talking about MicroStation performance, form "normal notebooks" the best would be some gaming, preferably in combination AMD processor (because current models are substantially better than anything from Intel) and AMD graphics card (because providing better DirectX performance, which is what MicroStation uses).
however I'm using regular USB 3.0 cable and the connector on the mobile is USB-C, how this should be impacted to the video card?
As Oto wrote, charging using USB-C is limited to 100W currently (future standard will change it), whereas real consumption can be higher. To compare standard charger and UBS-C makes sense, on the other hand you wrote it was fine in the pat.

The cited article instructs you to set Windows environment variable
QV_GLSTATS
. If Windows wants you to have Admin rights to set a permanent variable, then that's the way it is.

When I have more elements in place, section cuts are getting this representation. Fortunally, when send it to print we don't have that issue. Also realize from time to time when I move a section clip and switch between windows, MS crash.

Also, there is anyway to retrieve GLSTATS in Windows 10 without Admin rights?

RE: How to improve Display Performance on MS V8i under Windows 10 with NVIDIA Quadro Video Card?

Hi,

It's hard to say when you do not describe what your problem is ("performance" is not very exact description).

MicroStation (both V8i and CE) is DirectX based software, so you should check (in the card settings as well as in e.g. NVIDIA forum(s)) whether you can optimize NVidia settings specifically for DirectX performance. Problem with NVIDIA is (or maybe it was, not sure about the current situation) they focus in raw performance and OpenGL / OpenCUDA, but not too much on DirectX, when for some cards and drivers they even lied about DirectX features support (because added as software layer to drivers, not supported correctly by a card itself).

I recommend to start with collecting GLSTATS (detail log how MicroStation is able to access graphic HW). It can be used for a discussion with Bentley support, whether anything can be configured better.

With regards,
