Can I assign the Escape key to a mouse button?

1. Start a command (e.g. place line)
2. That command remains active until you do one of those...
   • Start a another command
   • Key-in null

As mwlong notes, the Reset button often does what's required.  There's no need to stop a command.

A command can be interrupted by a view command (e.g. zoom).  Exit the view command with Reset (right-click) to return to your current active command.

in workspace preferences you can also enable the escape  key to end commands.  In addition the old keyin "NULL" can also stop of clearout  any stuck commands... but most of the time the reset rmb  does the trick and when it  doesnt  use the enabled escape  key from keyboard like acad does.

Thanks, but I know about this dialogue box. I was hoping ofr a typed equivalent to assign to a mouse button. "Null" is close, but not what I'm looking for. Perhaps it's not possible in MS.
