Hi,
I have a customised level creation and selection tool (see below screen shot) that I have in Microstation Powerdraft, how do I transfer this from Powerdraft to Microstation Connect?
The company I work for wants to stop using Powerdraft and to use Microstation Connect instead.
The selection tool files are stored in the Powerdraft file structure under the following path:- Workspace V8i selc3/Projects/vba
Files I need to copy across are from Powerdraft are:-
Levelnames.csv
LvlCreate.mvba
RefAlign.mvba
Where do I copy the files across to within Microstation Connect?
Hi Andrew,
you did not write it clearly, but it looks like you want to not only to change the product from MicroStation PowerDraft to MicroStation, but also to change the product version (you did not not specify it, but PowerDraft workspace look like V8i, whereas the target platform is CONNECT Edition version).
To change the product and to migrate to new version are two separate tasks:
To move from PowerDraft to MicroStation is not problem at all, because PowerDraft represents a subset of MicroStation and MicroStation VBA is supported in the same way.
What is not "automatic" is the migration from V8i to CONNECT Edition, because V8i is 32bit, whereas CE is 64bit application, and also many changes and enhancements were implemented in this version (including programming APIs). In the case of MicroStation VBA, it's about the change from VBA 6.3 32bit to VBA 7.1 64bit. When only standard libraries are referenced, the migration usually does require no, or only simple modifications. But even in this case, the code should be analyzed and macro tested carefully, that everything works as expected.
