Hello,I am starting to expand my tool set knowledge into the power line area. I currently have been trying the place towers option...following the two training videos posted I have not made much progress with the tool.
I have not been able to get my macro to work as the one demonstrated in the training video nor have I had any lucky adjusting it myself. I place an active power line string but the place tower gives the message to go to settings first (not helpful when I am unsure where in settings I need to go). All help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Maddison

Just in relation to this tool you're describing, it does not sound like a plain installation of MicroStation. Would you be able to provide details of the software and version you're currently using. We can then move your question to a more appropriate forum. This tool sounds like it may be related to either a RAM, STAAD or OpenTower software package.

Andrew,
I am using the latest version of MicroStation Power Draft.
What is the exact version no. (e.g. v10.x.y.z) of MicroStation that you are using? Use key-in VERSION to see the version no. in the MicroStation Message Center, or Help→About MicroStation in the backstage.
VERSION
See this blog that shows you how to obtain MicroStation's version number.

PowerDraft doesn't have a Place Towers tool. Do you see any messages when PowerDraft starts that provide a clue about that tool?
Your post is tagged with TerraScan. Are you using one of TerraSolid's products for power line design?

I am using Version 10.15.00.75.
I am using this tool option.
You are using some sort of application (add on) software. They may (should) have their own forum or other support. I might suggest the 'got to settings' message refers to the Tool Settings or a settings window within the application tool box.

I agree with Mr. Rayner. These tools you show up are not included in the default PowerDraft installation. They are part of some other software that is loaded on top of/alongside PowerDraft.
As Mr. Rayner said, if these are additional Bentley products, they will have their own separate discussion board through this site where you can ask questions specific to that particular program.
If the program is developed and released by a third party, which is not Bentley, then you will need to contact that third-party customer service to get answers.
