Working in CONNECT, Why is it that if I have 2 ff's together, some of the other letters disappear in that particular word? If I change the text to all caps they show up.
Hi Tonia,
Do you face this issue with a particular text style? What if you try to place a text with Style(none). Please share a sample file in which this can be tested. Also, mention the version of MicroStation CONNECT Edition you are using (File > Help > About MicroStation)

What is the exact version no. (e.g. v10.x.y.z) of MicroStation that you are using? Use key-in VERSION to see the version no. in the MicroStation Message Center, or Help→About MicroStation in the backstage.
VERSION
See this blog that shows you how to obtain MicroStation's version number.
With which fonts do you have that problem? TrueType fonts or Bentley resource fonts or both?
What is the graphic card in your computer? Are your graphics drivers up to date?

Apparently it is when I use our FDOT font. It's only when I have 2 f's together. This is the font used for DOT in this area. We use it so we don't have to worry about changing styles. Not everyone has CONNECT Edition in our office yet. I've been learning it and figuring out bugs so when we do switch over I am able to help with the transition.
I have been issued a new computer so all drivers and programs are updated. I've had our Bentley expert look into the issue and she can't figure it out. We checked all the settings and configurations.
I'm running

So this happens with CONNECT but not if you view the same file using V8i?

What is that font: Arial, Helvetica ...? It looks like a TrueType font.
FDOT has it's own customized TTF fonts based on the Bitstream Vera fonts.
I just compared the fonts that come with FDOT 2010 vs FDOT Connect and while they have the same names the files are different. I would redownload the FDOT Connect configuration and copy the fonts from that into the appropriate location in your FDOT configuration. It sounds like they're either corrupt or somebody may have replaced the Connect ones with the V8i ones.
