So when i am drawing and using my keyboard short cut to copy something (3,1) or delete (8), i go to hit the number on my key board but the number goes to my "X" coordinate and not my short cuts.
Is there a Key I can press to make my key-in function go back to my tasks vs being put into the "X" coordinate in accudraw?

The first item to check would be whether you have Position Mapping turned on in your Preferences. You could possibly find the option under the Preferences > Input category to use the ESC key to exit the command.

I edited one of my Function Keys and applied the key-in "inputmanager home". This switches focus to the Task dialog. I also had the ESC key enabled to exit the current command.

Hi William,
It depends on 'input focus'. Depending on what you are doing in MicroStation, focus keeps on shifting between Home/Tool Settings/Keyin/AccuDraw. Check: docs.bentley.com/.../GUID-65E1B66D-D001-3E77-E8E0-E4E9CA100CAB.htmlTo use the shortcuts(position mapping), the focus should be on 'Home'. You can use either escape key or F12. docs.bentley.com/.../GUID-8D094183-0606-A7E1-2748-80E514C36B16.html
I second this approach. It works well. Positional mapping is great, but focus does need to be in the correct place (not accudraw or key-in window)

I developed the habit of using the ESC key to switch focus to Home. It worked well for me because I started out in AutoCAD many years ago and was used to hitting the ESC key all the time anyhow.
