I’ve been experimenting with updating/replacing cells, using both singular and globally, an old logo with a new logo, it works to some degree. I did an update on the old cell prior to replacing with the new cell. Right now even though both were created with a similar insertion point, the new cell is not placed as expected, in the old cells location. When attempting to do the replace globally it simply didn't work on a test set of drawings in a seperate folder.
Related but not germane, I did get one bug in replace cells filed for repair. It don't honor the active level the cell was placed on, even with point cells.

Can you tell us what version you are using first off?
Next, do the files used the to create the cells have the same working units and file resolution?

Similar does not mean they are exactly the same. Should they be the same or does one need to be different from the other? This will affect placement.

To be expected if the new insertion point is different from the old. What do you expect for the new placement compared to the old?
It would be extremely helpful to provide screenshots for what the old cells placement was & what the new cells placement is. A sample file and the cells would be welcomed as well. Detailed information of the workflow is important.
Without detailed information we are just shooting on the dark, making assumptions to the cause and pulling various scenarios out of thin air.

Yes I believe that they are all created equal, insertion point, scale etc. Placement should've been top center but actually is off the the left and lower. Sorry I cannot show image, client propriety issues, yes even for their logo.
