How to Draw a Line with Slope

I try to draw a sloped line with AccuDraw. I tried this tutorial but it didn't work as expected: https://envisioncad.com/accudraw-with-popup-calculator

For example I input 1000, 1000, 1300 coordinates for the first point, second point will be 40 meters away with %5 slope. In distance, direction mode, I input dist: 40 m, direction: 40 degree, Z: pressed * and input 0.5. Elevation didn't change. I expect that it calculates 40- (40*0.5) How can it be calculated from the first elevation?

Edit: corrected (Z * slope) to (distance * slope)

  • An interesting piece of information I received from a Bentley support tech. Even though other applications use Microstation as their base the other developers will change functionality of their Microstation base application for their product. The other developers do not coordinate these changes with the Microstation developers.

This means that the same tool or feature may work different in Microstation than it will in another application. This is why it is critical to provide the product & version in the initial post.

  • Thanks for the info mwlong. I didn't know the developers are developing Microstation core functionalities based on the product. I thought Microstation core developer team is different and products like OpenRoads, OpenRails.. are developing like extention of Microstation. (Like AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D). Because old version of Inroads developed independently and it could be used with Microstation and AutoCAD. Ok, got it now. I will mention my version of software before asking a question here.

  • One would hope the products being built on top of core Microstation have an issue with the core tools/functionality they would have the Microstation developers address the issue. That way all core elements of the base product work the same across platforms.
