  • The first question would be how did this text get dropped to their individual element? Did you use the Drop Element tool on this text?

As these elements have been dropped to their individual elements I would not think that they would be able to be transformed back into another type of element, like text, in plain MicroStation But as you are asking about Descartes there is a possibility this companion product could be used to perform this operation but it would be better to ask this question in their support forums.

    Bentley Descartes - Raster Vectorization

Is this something that you're wanting to perform in Descartes or MicroStation and which version of MicroStation are you using?

Old versions of software like Descartes V8i SELECTseries 5 are no longer supported and would not be available to download. We suggest that you should using a supported version of MicroStation or Descartes CONNECT Edition.

  • Actually this drawings are pdf converted. In AutoCAD ther's an option recognize SHX text but its not up to mark for recognition. I was looking a way in microstation to convert it to text

  • The autocad import pdf to DWG only works well if the pdfs were originally created from ACAD or MSTN dgn or DWG as a direct print ( with the text searchable option set ) so the vectors are recognisable as vectors and the text recognisable as text.. sounds more like your pdfs were created from scanning paper ..then imported to acad then to mstn

However microstation cannot do what your asking.. I don't know what Descartes can do with this maybe it can convert selections to text... but I dont think its automated... but I don't now that product..

Maybe some scanning software that has OCR  could work out the stuff that looks like text.. but I don't hold much hope for that approach as it may not like lines

  • PDF "converted"? How, using what tools? If these were tools available in Descartes, then you should probably go to the Descartes forum and ask about those tools. There may be an option in whatever you used to "convert" your PDF to recognize text.

When you say further down that you tried to attach the PDF as a raster "but it doesn't work", How did it not work?

Telling us what AutoCAD has isn't always helpful. AutoCAD has tools MicroStation doesn't have. MicroStation has tools that AutoCAD doesn't have. If we know of an equivalent, we will try to tell you, but sometimes the answer is just "No, we can't do exactly that".

I would like to find the tool in AutoCAD that will Allow me to place a "floating" arc, tangent to a line, that ends at a known point. I have asked every AutoCAD Guru that I've known, and the answer is "No, AutoCAD can't do that". So I find another way to get my work done, with the tools that software package has.
