That's strange,

I'm sure I clicked on all the sizes when converting to an .ico file.

But it seems to only give me one size instead.

How would I know if I've converted it correctly?

your icon name has a space in front of it, however now that i look at it i'm guessing the issue is that is where your icon is supposed to be looking at my own.

Any chance you could post your .ico file and the original bmp? That might help sort out the issue.

I'm very sure there are no spaces in the name.

Just to be sure, could you please clarify which one I'm supposed to be checking? Am I meant to be checking the 'Label' or the 'Icon Name'? Or maybe perhaps there's something else that I'm missing altogether.

EDIT: I simplified the icon name to 'Panda', hence why it's different to my previous images.

That should be right did you double check you didn't have a tab or a space in the name when you typed it?

Yea, I'm using the site Grant has kindly shared.

I select all the sizes possible for one icon and select 'Convert ICO'. By any chance would you know if that's correct?

This would be my guess, I nearly always start with a 48x48 .png and I create them in batches in a range of sizes.

It also appears you might have a tab or space in front of the icon name where you typed it into the ribbon? If so that will mess things up for sure. You might just need to fix that.

Could be a problem with icon size. Did you create an .ico file with multiple image sizes as Grant Wood suggested?

So I managed to get to this stage,

I imported via ico this time. However when I get to trying to use it as an actual icon, it's still 'blank'.

I click on the Panda and select 'OK'.

Unfortunately, it's still blank, any idea why?

Yes I did,

From here I clicked on 'From Bitmaps...'

Then I added my Panda icon like this. The strange thing though is that I don't see the Panda icon in my list of icons.

When I click 'OK', this is what I see.

Panda icon is nowhere to be found. Those two other icons were ones I experimented with and somehow got in there by fluke.

EDIT: Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. It's hit and miss.

I suggest not using .bmp for icons as they do not scale correctly with the new ribbon which as I understand it works from the windows API. Try converting your bmp to a ico file this can be done free online. I've had pretty good luck with this one. (https://icoconvert.com/) the ico file contains your icon with multiple standard px sizes and should scale up/down while looking sharp. Good luck!

Did you import the icon using MicroStation's Import BMP Dialog? What icon size(s) did you choose?
