[SS10] is there any way for "Adjusted colors" to carry through nested references?

Question

I have "container files" for my sheets, where I reference in all of the relevant files and adjust the display for the appropriate sheet type. 
 I would like to use the ability to "Adjust Colors" for one or two references so that they are subdued on the screen. I don't need to actually CHANGE the colors of the reference elements. We have a design script provided by our client that handles all the printing through various criteria and I don't want to potentially mess that up. I also don't want to go through the work of setting up level overrides and all that...I want to select my existing survey file, use the Reference "Adjust Colors" tool and dim that stuff down so that visually, on the screen, our proposed construction "pops" a bit more. 
 While I can do this with no problem in the container file, it doesn't appear to carry through into the sheet files. The container linework is dim, but the sheets are as bright as ever. 
 Is there a setting that would allow Adjusted Colors to carry through a nested reference? Or can that just not be done? Thank you. MaryB

It does work unless you change one tiny bit in the level settings of the reference (edit: in the host file). One setting override changes the behaviour for this reference. You can easily recognize that something was changed through the host file by a black dot in the level manager (also in the host file). 
 
 You also have to set a (new ?) variable called MS_NEST_COLORADJUSTMENT to 1.

Hi Mary 
 I havent tried this myself ( I'm home today ) but its like almost anything todo with nesting and sheets doesnt really work as intended its almost like microstation hasn't caught up with with its own development well when it comes to sheets that is... I think it will work in one of two ways.. first way seems to work for updates of overrides for me when changes havent come thro to the sheets > after you have done the changes to the nest then in the active file that has the sheets or sheet model Detach the ref nest then undo to let it reattach I do it one sheet at a time but you maybe able to batch process.. this seems to work for me most times and maybe it will with adjusted colours nested files too.. 
 Second way is the same as the first way but do it to the nest, do the adjust colours thing save settings detach the file from the nest then undo detach.. in lay terms I think this somehow refreshes the file so it takes on the changes.. again I have not tested this adjust colours but I have done it for overrides that havent come thru to sheets.. BTW before when didnt use sheets changes to the nests always worked... let me know how you get on Mary send us a PM
