Just wondering if there's any trick to have dimension texts set to a predefined string? Something like "REFER DRG X". I know VBA might be able to get that done, just hoping there's a more convenient way.
Not sure exactly which type of dimension you're requesting this for but it does sound like it is for a Note. I cannot see any capability in relation to placing a note where this could be achieved other than what you say with VB code or a macro.
There are a couple of option for Prefix or Suffix text that can be placed with dimensions, though.
Dimension Styles Dialog, Units Tab
Dimension Styles Dialog, Advanced Tab

1 common use case would be dimensions with "= =" used in 2nd value to indicate symmetry.
Another use case is "A", "B" or the infamous (in my corner of the world) "REFER DESIGN DRAWINGS" for standard details.
I'm aware of the prefix and suffix fields, but they don't really solve the issue. Unless there's a way have the dimension value omitted?
