Hello,
During collaboration involving many many models with many many changes a designer should be able to spot changes in reference files with aid of the software. Is something like this possible in Microstation?
Imagine there is 30km model of road and one column changed its location. It is impossible for a designer to spot the change when the reference is updated after it had been changed. There must be a dedicated tool for this.
I have seen latest versions of Autocad has this feature called dwg compare which probably does what i am talking about but i have not seen how it works with 3D.
Thanks
What to do if overrides is block in project settings?
PW use with DH. News to me. Used DH on PW on a recent job. OBD U4 to 6.
Average file bloat usually twice the size. Any large than that would require a purge of the number or revisions. Seems to have worked OK.
In any case, I think the new imodels look like you would avoid all of this as the imodel history is stored outside the dgn.. I think. Viewing the results can be done on web browser which is super quick, or Ref attached back into Mstn for review.
It would be good to get some feedback from anyone who has tried using imodels

Many years ago we created DGN Chronographer for MicroStation V8i. It's exactly what you request: a lightweight history or change tracker.
DGN Chronographer is not available for MicroStation CONNECT.

i have noticed there is comparison tech preview in imodels. i havent tried yet.
you can connect all supported files in microstation and this way smuggle them into the imodel. you just cant connect them directly but through being referenced.
