[CONNECT Update 16.1] Placement Points

I would like to use Placement Points...

However, the only help I can find is about parametric cell design.  Perhaps I've misunderstood, but aren't Placement Points applicable to normal cells as well?

Ability to add placement points to Graphic and Shared Cells

You can now also add placement points to Graphic and Shared cells. Earlier this functionality was only available for parametric cells.

How do I add a placement point to a normal cell?

  • Hi Jon,

placement points can be added to graphic cells using the same workflow as for parametric ones. You can add the placement points to the cell models in the cell library and these will then be available at placement.

I modified a simple cell and added four placement points.  I can place the cell normally...

But when I choose one of the placement points, the cell vanishes — although the prompt to place the cell remains...

    Invisible cell with placement points

Here's the cell library.  The cell with Placement Points is called TenureLabel1 - Placement Points.

  • Hi Jon,

I could not reproduce your issue. See Video

The only thing I noticed is that if you turn off the options "Dimension Values" and "Annotation" the cells are so small that it looks like they are not visible anymore, like they vanishes. I was expecting to see the placement point at my cursor, but it is far away using the different placement points.

Could you please check again and let me know if this is also your case?

    Regards

That's exactly what I'd hoped to see.

I'll experiment witht the settings and let you know.
