we found the following Problem.
If we use the Set Element Elevation on a text, the text does not just change its hight it also moves on the y-axis. It seems like it moves the by the same value on the y-axis as the size of the text.
we encountered this problem one 3 different and not connected workplaces.
We know that there are problems regarding the command changing the text style. So we would not be surprised if this ist another bug. We just want to confirm if it is somehow possible to fix this problem with a hidden setting that we are missing or something like that.
I hope these pictures make it somehow clear what I mean:
I placed a text, copied it to the exact same location an used the Set Element Elevation command on one of them with the new hight of 1.
Thank you in advance!
What sort of angle do you have on the "side view"? If it were a true Left or Right view, we wouldn't be able to see the text except as a short line on the screen. It looks as if your text has indeed moved "up" 1 in the Z direction, but I suspect that what you think is movement in the Y direction is simply a perspective based on an angled view. Your grid doesn't look even in that image either, making me even more suspicious of an angled view.
When you look at the Properties for your text elements, do you see a change in the Y coordinate value?

Yes,the angle is a bit of. I tilted the view down a bit so you can actually see that the second text shifted on the y-axis.
This would be the true Left View:
The y-axis value changes in the properties too. The start point of the first text was X=0, Y=0, Z=0. The start point of text i tried the command on is know on X=0, Y=-0.5, Z=1. Both of these texts where on the same exact position before i tried the Set Element Elevation command.
I hope that makes it more clear.
I just did a quick test and found that using the Set Elevation tool causes the text to move, but the node for the text remains in the proper location. I placed my original point was at Elev 0.00. Using the Set Elevation tool I switched the Z to 100.00. I used the Edit Text tool to update the Z value and when I accepted the new value the text jumped back to the original justification. The Text Node remains at the proper location. Just the text moves.
After applying new elevation
Perhaps it is better to use the Element Properties dialog to change the elevation in these cases? The remains in the correct orientation.

Okay, I think that pretty much confirms that the Set Element Elevation Tools can't be used for text.
I will suggest using the properties dialog to the users that found the problem.
Thank you very much for your help.
Also mentioned that here:
"The new Set Element Elevation tool is great, but it blows out the justification of any text."
