Windows 11 Compatibility ?

Windows 11  upgrade option popped up on my machine this morning.

What's the official line on this?  Wait for MSCE 16.2 or 16.3?

  • I am astonished at this thread and the recurring theme. I have worked in the DGN format since 1985 and DWG. My experience has always been the DGN format is superior and trust me I have used both enough to know.  I am now retired and have just purchased a new PC with Windows 11.  I have a service ticket in because I can't get it to load on this wonderful new PC.  I am devastated to know that is appears that further development of MicroStation may not be forthcoming. I find that a shame as the alternative is the DWG format, and I don't have any love of it.  I have always championed the DGN format over DWG and would continue to in a professional setting.

It appears from some of the postings here that Bentley Systems is ceding the CAD world over to Autodesk.  What a shame, I started using Intergraph in 1985 and when Bentley introduced MicroStation I was ecstatic, Finally I would be able to get the DGN format on a PC.  That changed the trajectory of my Carrer. and I am grateful for it.

It is a shame that this may come to an end but at least it didn't happen before my retirement and putting me in the unhappy position of having to go back and relearn AutoCAD.

    Good luck everyone.

In my opinion the problem is not caused by MicroStation itself, but likely by the new HW itself. Many people confirmed they use different Power Products with Windows 11 without any problems.

Can you link the source of such information? MicroStation Update 16 was released in quite short periods with a list of fixes, information about planned Update 17 was shared in different discussion(s) as well.

    With regards,
