MicroStation CE Speed (File commands)

HI Bentley

I know this has been raised many times in many threads and covered in numerous SR's across the globe.

But

we are now at update 16+ c. 6 years later and the user experience of user CE is painful, I have almost every client complaining about the following on a daily bases.........

  • The time it takes to launch CE is painful
  • The file opening times is painful
  • The file reference process is painful
  • Why does CE just hang for no reason
  • Why do we have to constantly repair our user preferences, to gain some sort of speed

As we are your users, we pay your wages... can we ask a simple question... Fellow Users please jump in if this is ok or not

Can you concentrate on FIXING the speed issue and maybe MAJOR BUGS for the upcoming release(s) and NOT worry about new features, we are happy for these to follow.  We have to use this on a daily bases and it is costing us time and money waiting for CE to respond.  If you multiply time per user across the global it is $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ wasted on a daily bases

We need it to be as responsive as V8i.

    Can you tell us...BE HONEST....... ARE YOU ACTIVELY LOOKING at this issue....IF YES.. where are you with this.  what are the plans?...... when will we see CE as FAST or FASTER than V8i?... after all it is 64 bit..... V8i was 32 bit and out guns CE....

    Its over 6 years since CE was release, you are forcing us to use CE from Jan 2022 c. 35 days and counting and yet it is not fit for purpose in so many areas... The biggest concern is SPEED SPEED SPEED SPEED and SPEED.

    WE NEED SPEED, WE NEED PERFORMANCE, WE NEED STABILITY and we need it in 35 days

    Knowadays I do pretty much straight up drafting, complex, but 2d. Once I got my configuration "clean" Connect runs fast. However, recent r16 is definitely slower, more pauses and more crashes. Bentley zucks. I feel like (I am) an unpaid beta tester. The number of bugs (many minor) is just incredible. On rare occasion I will fill out a Service Ticket, most get filed as 'Defect Filed', some get resolved. It's getting hard to remember which workarounds I no longer need. Still amazed I'm able to get my work done, I'm sure my clients love paying extra for sub-standard software (let's not tell them).
