For my custom line style I have created a point component that displays a symbol at each end of the line/linestring/curve. I have not been able to make it work correctly with complex chains. It places the origin symbol at the start, and only the start, of the complex chain but it places the end symbol at the end of every element of the complex chain.
Any ideas how I can make this work as I would like it to?
This is a 3D line style and I’m working in MicroStation 10.13.00.48.
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

You might be better off forgetting about making a custom line style work, and just using a line terminator.

But I so enjoy beating my head against a brick wall!
I think you're right.
Your response prompted me to ask my self, how often will I have 3D complex chains? In my world - roads - pretty much the only value of complex chains is to incorporate arcs in an element or to connect linestrings that reach their limit of vertices. Arcs have to be planar which just doesn't happen in a 3D world - not impossible, just highly improbable. That got me to wondering what happens if there are no arcs in the chain. Lo and behold, the linestyle works just as I want it to. The simple solution is to use line terminators when there are arcs in the complex chain which, in my 3D world, will probably never happen.
Problem solved! Thank you for your response!
