I often net to change desing file setting to the base to show North as 0 deg and my angle readout to show clockwise direction. Is there a keyin to change it to this setting? I tried recording a macro to switch to my preferred angle readout setting, but for some reason, when I run it, it does not make these changes.
Thanks for you help.
you dont mention which version of microstation your using , nor the macro type ie basic or vba.. the answers to this can make a big difference to the solution.
the only keyin I can find is
MDL LOAD DGNSET
which opens the dialog but I cant find the sub settings as key ins ... it might be a calculate.tb thing in mdl language
otherwise its a vba thing maybe

sorry, not sure why my signature did not appear (it has my Microsation version)
Microstation select series 10 ver 08.11.09.919
basic macro, record keystrokes.
also have
CONNECT Ed Update 17
Version 10.17.02.61
ok try to record a vba macro instead and it may reveal some keyins or settings.. FYI I think with your signature, your tag line ie versions you use only self populates when you answer not when you originate post

It's the way the Be Community is designed. The initial post does not include your signature. Replies to an existing post do include your signature.
Annoying, yes, but that's the way it is and the owners are reluctant to change it.

Hi Abel,

Strictly speaking, there no key-in related directly to the mentioned settings.
But, in certain situations, it is possible to access and modify MicroStation runtime settings in low-level way, through C-expressions.
So, technically, there is such key-in ;-)
The key-ins (better to say key-in chains, because calculat application is always loaded explicitly) are:
To change Direction Mode to Azimuth:
mdl load calculat;calculator tcb->directionFormat.mode=1
To set Base angle to North (which is 90°):
mdl load calculat;calculator tcb->directionFormat.baseDir=90
To set on Clockwise checkbox:
mdl load calculat;calculator tcb->directionFormat.flags.clockwise=1
Don't forget these settings are temporary until Save settings (Ctrl+F) is used.
With regards,
Jan
