With the new connect version (instead of v8i) why does it change the attributes of the Enter Data Field text and how do I stop it? In the old version, just click on the Enter Data Field, change your text, hit Enter, move on to next Data field. NOW, it changes the color of the text to some random color, not the current active color. So I have to fidget and fuss with it for a while to finally get it back to the original color. So far no one surefire method has worked for me in changing it back. Good thing is, I haven't deleted v8i yet, so I can go back to it and get my Data Fields changed properly.
maybe its finally time to let Edit data fields go the way of the Dodo ... IMHO Text works better and Cells with text work even better... as for a long time we have been able to edit text inside a cell just by double clicking and it leaves the attributes as they were set color , font , level etc this was one of the main advantages of edit data field.. but personally I dislike them and turn them into text every time I find them...maybe its just me but I dont think they are worth the trouble and effort anymore.
What happens when you drop data field back to normal text and then edit it does it leave the attributes as they were?
I know in V8i they still work as you have always known them..

I just saw something like this not long ago (but, of course, can't find it). I believe it is a bug.
I'd suggest filing a Service Ticket with Bentley Support. If there's a fix or a workaround they will let you know, and if it's a bug, you add one more name to the request to fix it.

I was told that adding the configuration variable_USTN_RESET_EDF_COLOR_TO_MATCH_ADJOINING_TEXT=truewas a permanent fix. It wasn't too long ago that I complained about that and someone said that this is a temporary fix and that a fix without the configuration variable will eventually be released. In the mean time, you can add this variable and see if it helps.
