[CONNECT Update 16] URL Link name and address

I've added a URL link to a DGN element.  The link is functional, but I'm puzzled about the URL link Link Name and Address.  The screenshot below shows MicroStation's Properties of the DGN element having a DgnLink that stores a URL...

URL link

The HTTP Address is valid.  When I select the link I can pop my web browser at the page specified by the URL.

It's the Link Name that I don't understand.  By default, Link Name shows the URL.  I want to change it to something human-friendly.  However, when I change that field to, say, AreaAnnotator, two things happen...

  1. The Link's name in the top properties window changes to AreaAnnotator
  2. The Link Name reverts immediately to display the URL

What's going on?

  • Has this been formally listed as a bug?
No repair will be forthcoming unless this is done.

Another new occurrence I've noticed, is the action of the dialogue differs between From File:, Keyin and URL. The latter 2 appear covered by the "Type" text, and hence are difficult to use (But this may be only a function of High Resolution graphics cards as it has only started this on U17 and new laptop with higher resolution drivers, not resolved by the Microstation suggested changes)

I also noted the performance in previous versions was similarly "broken", but the behaviour was different. The Link name would change, but then revert the next time the DRG was opened.
I regret not listing this as a bug back then,as it has regressed significantly (but Bentley might just respond "WAD")
