Using CE16 I have found that Create Region now doesn't keep the previous options set, but SS10 does. If I set the option Fill Type to Opaque it works OK, but if I go out of the tool and then come back to it Fill Type has reverted to None. This is a pain as I need to remember to change to Opaque each time. This is a new bug as far as I can see as I'm sure it worked OK in U15.
I've just tested in vanilla U16.1 and it seems the settings stay as previous between command calls. So probably it's fixed in U16.1.

It only works after doing a manual save settings which is a change from previous versions!

I have and it's the same in all files. Never happened before in any version before this one.
are you using a custom workspace ? Try doing this with no configuration applied.

I am but makes no difference if I use a standard configuration. Same problem both times.
Have you tried removing your User Preferences? Could be a corrupted .upf file.

ok - here is what I have found with my version of CONNECT.
I open a file - make changes to the create region dialog and they hold for the open session (what ever I have set is there when I open the dialog again).
When I close the file and get back in it changes. So I did a save settings, and now when I open that file, the dialog holds that last setting.

Had the following from Bentley regarding the Create Region tool:
It's a regression.
The tool was working properly in the update 10.16.00.80.
I found the filled bug for this: 753628, SmartMatch tool doesn't work for fill type.
The status of the defect is approved. It means it should be fixed with some release in next year.
At this moment I couldn't specify in which one.
Is this now sorted in the version just released? Does it work as it should now?
Depends on what you mean by "as it should". Lots of stuff changed with Connect, some WAD, some just plain bugs.
But changing the fill type wants a save settings to retain. Smart match does now match fill type.

Smart Match retains fill type in V8i SS10 as it is.
