Finding the furthest perpendicular point between two lines

Question

Is there an easy way to wind the maximum perpendicular point between two lines? 
 I'm trying to find the maximum perpendicular distance between two lines and the measure tools don't seem to have a function for this. I'm currently copying parallel to find the point but it's a bit slow and imprecise, is there a better way of doing this? 
 The attached image should show what I'm trying to do.

Hi Jamie, 
 You can easily draw the max perpendicular line between an arc and a line by setting Snap Mode to Perpendicular. 
 
 Set Snap mode to Perpendicular by double-clicking this icon or key-in: LOCK SNAP PERPENDICULAR 
 Use Place Line command 
 Snap to first element and accept 
 Snap to second element near suspected max location and accept. (Depending on how the arc and line are positioned, there will be multiple possible solutions. If necessary, tap the Alt key to cycle thru the solutions before accepting.) 
 
 Since both snap locations are constrained to be perpendicular the result will be the max perpendicular length line constructed between both elements.

in your example its an arc and a line there is a mathematical solution with equation ( google chord height) to find out the height of a cord so you could use the calc to check your answer but I would use place circle by edge and use tangent and perp snaps and Mstm will find the solution as the diam of the circle.. all the equations are here

 As well as creating a centre-line between two lines, it also records the min and max separation between those lines.

Another option is to copy parralel and use the tangent snap the maximum distance can then be measured using the measure tool.
