I want to change the settings when I use Clip Volume into Illustration, because when you have a coordination session for a building project, it is more clearly for other engineers/managers what they see on screen.
Is this possible?
Hi Andy,
I don't have any problems selecting the those pulldown menu's in V8i. I guess the first thing I would check the Option values you have in the illustration Display Style settings:
For the Clip Volume part of the view attributes dialog to be visible there needs to be at least 1 clip volume in the model, so I presume that you do actually have one.
Usable for Clip Volumes only enables that style to be selected in the Clip Volume pulldowns and be applied to the chosen Clip Volume plane.
It would be easy to assume that its yet another bug in CONNECT, but you need to confirm what you do actually have a Clip Volume.
Do you get the same unselectable pulldown menu's if you have any other Display Style applied to a view?
Hello Barry,
Thank you for your responce. But this question for using Bentley View Connect Edition Update 15 Version 10.15.00.75
When I go to my client for project coordination, I use a laptop, so I must open Bentley View. And the project that I work on is a big warehouse. So it is easy to use Clipvolume when other disciplines are modelled in 3D using other platforms.
.
I've never used Bentley View so I'm unsure of its capabilities.
Are you able to create Clip Volumes within it or just activating ones already present in the drawing.
Yes you may create ClipVolumes.
Are files opened in Bentley View always read only?
Yes they are read only. But can be presented in other display styles. But doesn't work with Clip volume. Clip Volumes is a very powerfull tool for coordination with other disciplines. Cause other platforms for BIM is a standard tool. And it is important for projectmanagers. They can use snipping of windows for solutions.
