CE Second Window - Ribbons on Second Window

Is there a way to be able to have ribbon tools at the top of the second application window?

  • Hi Bear, what happens if you:

    • Only use a Single Application Window
    • Don't maximise it
    • Stretch it out across both screens

I would guess it would stretch the ribbon across, but have not idea how it would look.

I used to have to do the same thing with Revit and used a 3rd party app to automatically size & position its Application Window, View Windows, Project Browser & Properties dialogs, all with a single key combination.

  • This solution will only work in case of multiple monitors with the same resolution (at least height). When working on a laptop + external monitor it's usually not the case. Even if the resolution is the same (for example Full HD resolution) it will look very strange I'm afraid because the physical size of both monitors will be different.

Second objection, there will be no easy way to stretch/maximize a view/window on 1 monitor. Only by manually dragging.

What I personally don't like much with Revit's approach to multi-monitor is how non-"view" windows (like properties) cannot be maximized on a second monitor. "Views", "Schedules" and "Sheets" behave just like any application window (meaning I can drag and use Windows' built-in split screen with 2 of 4 application windows). But not settings, template windows, properties, project browser, ... Which are exactly the things I want to have removed from my main monitor.

I never tried any 3rd party solution in Revit though ...
