In this design file, when caching a 3D model as reference in a drawing model, the material projection seems to be ignored (see image below).
This problem doesn't appear in MicroStation pre-Connect.
The original 3D model (Design) in MicroStation Connect. The pattern of the bricks is horizontal (material rotated with projection).
Above the drawing model where the 3D model is referenced and Cached. The pattern direction on the right is rotated like it is without the projection. Strange is that the left pattern direction is rotated like it chould be (even more strange, just before I wrote this, the left part was also rotated 90 degrees, no matter what I tried).
In Pre-Connect, this function works very stable and without this kind of problems (v8i SelectSeries 10):
Screenshot from the same cached file in pre-Connect (v8i SS10).
What am I doing wrong?
Regards Louis
have you used the Material attach Projection Tool to rotate the Material OR directly rotated the Material map ?
Will it be possible to send me this file ?
-Nilesh
Hi Nilesh,
Indeed, I used the Material Attach Projection Tool. Hereafter the Edit Projection Tool was used to rotate the Material with the Geometry Map.
It is no problem to send you the dgn file. Where should I send this to?
Thanks Louis for the details .. We have a bug # 768835 created for the issue of Rotated Project Map in CVE .
It will however help to check your case and be certain its the same. You can email me the Test Case at nilesh.sawant@bentley.com.
We will try to address it as soon as possible, In the mean while can you create a copy of the Material and use the Rotate map option from the Material Editor as a workaround
Regards,
Nilesh
Thank you for looking to this problem. A mail is send to you.
Another short question:
In the new (PBR) material Lay-out the Geometry Map function doesn't seems to be present. Will this functionality be available in the future?
Thanks for the Test case. Yes, its looks like the same case and its covered in defect #768835 .
The Geometry Map will not be available as PBR but it will have to be set using the normal material setting. Also it will not be removed and will continue to be there
Thank you
