Hi,
I am trying to Paste an Excel table in Microstation Connect using Place Table feature. I have set all formatting like row height, column width, bordering, etc in excel as I want them to look in Microstation. And I am preserving formatting while placing table in Microstation. The problem here is that when table pastes, the row height automatically increases for every row in Microstation. I tried to reduce the height mt reducing the height of the whole table but it will not go below a certain threshold. I have some 80 rows and 61 columns.
Desired: ( These values are set in Excel)
height of each row = 0.19 inches
Total height of table= 1.48ft
What I am getting: ( In Microstation)
Height of each row = 0.21 inches
Total height of table= 1.671 ft
Does anybody know what is happening here and any help would be appreciated!! The laptop I am using is i7 16GB RAM. Could this be the issue and require higher processor because currently it takes light years to paste and the place table function is quite fickle and breaks the sheet if used multiple times consecutively.
Thank you
Which CONNECT version you are using? Before U16 there were lot of issues(slow and crashes) with Excel place table.
Also try to ignore Excel formatting maybe it will help.
Its Version 10.10.00.26 or 2021 Release 1. I cannot ignore excel formatting. Otherwise in microstation, i need a preset table which cannot be done without taking excel formatting i think so. When i paste without formatting, it takes some generalized table and text sizes and fonts which I dont want. Let me know if you know any other method. Thanks for replying.

no such MicroStation version exist.
Do you use another product, but talking about it as about MicroStation?
Please read and follow the best practices: To pollute post by many, in fact the same, tags, is useless and does not brings any value. Specify the product and used version exactly.

MicroStation is not Excel, so the same table in Excel and MicroStation will always be (more or less) different).

If you think it is bug, I recommend to create test case:
... and send it to Bentley support using Service Request.

Hi Jan,
Sorry about that. I am using Open Bridge Designer and then Open Bridge Modeler. I thought it was called Microstation Connect. But here is the version number. I will also submit a service request very soon.
You are in correct forum. Microstation(Power platform) is base for many products. Even if you would post this in correct forum(Openbridge) you would most likely be redirected to this forum for help as it is base product functionality which is not working. I wonder how Excel import was even approved for release as it was so slow and never really working.
Check which is OpenBridge latest version here - softwaredownloads.bentley.com/.../
