Importing Excel in Microstation Connect

Which CONNECT version you are using? Before U16 there were lot of issues(slow and crashes) with Excel place table. 

Also try to ignore Excel formatting maybe it will help.

Its Version 10.10.00.26 or 2021 Release 1. I cannot ignore excel formatting. Otherwise in microstation, i need a preset table which cannot be done without taking excel formatting i think so. When i paste without formatting, it takes some generalized table and text sizes and fonts which I dont want. Let me know if you know any other method. Thanks for replying.

no such MicroStation version exist.

Do you use another product, but talking about it as about MicroStation?

Please read and follow the best practices: To pollute post by many, in fact the same, tags, is useless and does not brings any value. Specify the product and used version exactly.

MicroStation is not Excel, so the same table in Excel and MicroStation will always be (more or less) different).

If you think it is bug, I recommend to create test case:

• Excel source, with description what values should be maintained.
• The result in DGN, with a highlights what was changed incorrectly

... and send it to Bentley support using Service Request.

What is the exact version no. (e.g. v10.x.y.z) of MicroStation that you are using? Use key-in VERSION to see the version no. in the MicroStation Message Center, or Help→About MicroStation in the backstage.

Are you using a Seed that you setup for this table? In the settings of the seed you can lock the size of the Rows/Columns so they do not automatically expand. Also, just because you can format something in Excel does not mean it will translate properly in Microstation. There is also an issue with creating stacked fractions in Excel. As far as I can find Excel does not support stacked fraction, but Microstation does. So there may be situations where you want something displayed a certain way that is not supported by Excel.

Using the Place Table tool in Microstation is not that great. It has its uses, but you are limited. For proper use you need to do the upfront work of creating seeds to provide consistent results.
