MS CE 16
Hi.
I have an attached Point Cloud and I have put a "Clip" to that Point Cloud (Mode= boundary by "Element").
As you can see in the animated gif when I do zoom IN or OUT then the Clip is ignored. There is a particular Zoom when Clip is applied succesfully.
I also press the button "update view" and wait for several minutes to see if refresh correctly, but it doesn´t.
Hi Joan Martínez Serra,
Could you please update to MicroStation 16.2?
There was a Defect regarding Point Cloud performances resolved in this version.
Let us know if the issue is still present, in that case we will request the Point Clouds to test on our side.
Regards
Maria
Thanks Maria.
Where I can check the list of these fixes?
There are 3 registers about Point Clouds. Seems that this bug is not contemplated.
Please upload your Point cloud and dgn file used so I can test it https://bentley.sharefile.com/r-r90c1bb0c14f5445f87213db38c6845b6
Hi Maria.
I have a question about this.
If you apply a Clip to the Point Cloud. ("Clip" button from the Point Cloud dialog box).
And then you Export that Point Cloud to a new .pod file, will it take that Clip into account?
Because when I export to a new .pod my new file weights practically the same and if I attach that .pod the new point cloud is entire.
Is the clip just to display less points in the cloud? Even if I create a terrain (ORD) from a point cloud which has a Clip applied, the terrain takes into account ALL POINTS of the point cloud (it ignores the Clip).
When using the Export Point Cloud tool, the Region Filter by Default is set to 'All', this can be set to 'Clip' did you perhaps miss this switch?

Yeah!!! I didn´t it !
Also, I selected 3 Filter classifications and they were empty! MUAHAHAHA, so I didn´t get a new .pod file although I put a name in the "Save as" dialog box.
My Point Cloud just has a single Classification.
And if you don´t select the row (Point Cloud name in the Point Cloud dialog box) then you have to pick on the Point Cloud in the drawing.
