Just a few times, I'm getting an odd fail condition, various files. Anywhere I click I get no response other than Windows audible "invalid" audio. Right click in the task bar, ask to close Microstation, no audible, but completely ignores the Close Program request. Must got to Task Manager to and End Task. After closing, re-open file, no ill affects.

When you do not kill the process, does MicroStation recover or exception log is created? It can be helpful to obtain exception log + memory dump, because it can help to analyze what happened before the crash.

Is there anything in Windows logs? There are several available (System, Application...) and when MicroStation halts and does not respond, at the same time e.g. crash of graphics driver (and automatic restart) or some internal Windows event can be reported.

Windows just beeps as if Microstation is not even there and I'm performing an invalid input. Next time it happens I'll look at the logs.

When MicroStation hangs, please take couple of Hang dumps (1-2 minute time interval), via Task Manager, which will help.
