Hi,
I can't find a way to underline a header that is a datafield. When I create a new datafield with the text underlined Microstation underlines all spaces in the datafield.
Is there a way to do it in V8i or CONNECT please?
Not sure whether this was what you are requesting. How to get underscore working either as data field or as an underscore in the same model

not an underscore thanks, underlined text.
you have tried creating a text style with underline enabled and applying it to your Edit Data Fields?
Data Fields are legacy and predate text styles so maybe you cannot do it with a data field... I know that with tag text I cant use Background Fill in the text style, well it doesnt work with tags and fill text so looks like Edit Data Fields wont let you use underlined... ( check the font/ text setting that you have enabled underlining)

Early in the days of data fields, MicroStation text didn't have the flexibility it does now. You couldn't do a lot of things with text (mix fonts, mix colors, underline one piece of text). You generally had to place separate pieces of text to do some of this stuff. I am guessing this is one of those limitations.
Is there a specific reason you are using a data field ? Just asking...as there may be an alternative to using the data field.

I've tried that, but it applies the underline to empty datafields as well as those with a character in it.
