Hello, I am looking for a variable that can be updated so that the Open File Dialog will always go to the directory where the active file is open. If you have multiple Microstations open in two different locations, the Open File Dialog starts from a directory that was last opened from, even though that may have been in another session. I was hopping to add a button that can reset that variable. I tried MS_DEF but that doesn't seem to effect it.
Thanks.
Those variables are read-only, i'm looking for a way to change the directory of the OpenFileDialog. This may not be a variable, i can't seem to find one at least.
Hi Viktor
_DGNDIR = ActiveDesignFile Path (but no filename)
_DGNFILE = Name and full path of the ActiveDesignFile
I am talking about the basic open dialog box, when you click File\Open and then Browse. The directory that it opens with changes with the last file that was opened. This is fine if you have one instance of microstation, but becomes a problem if you have 2 instances running from different locations.

Kinda contradictory there. There is only an ActiveFile once a DGN file is opened, there isn't an ActiveFile when you load and display the MicroStation Manager (and whatever the CONNECT equivalent is)
Are you trying to have the OpenFileDialog display a specific folder every time you load MicroStation?

Do you mean 2 instances of MicroStation opening from the same machine (btw, that's not a practice I recommend)?
I'm unsure what the CONNECT Open File dialog is like, but I trust you know that you can get back to the folder of the active file by selecting Entry 1 on the Directory History icon?
