To whom it may concern,
something changed, and I'm not shure, if it had something to do with Microstation, the laptop or windows.
When activating an element I usually could delete it when pressing the delete key on the keyboard - this changed and I have to use the microstation delete button.
As this is only happening in Microstation and no other program it looks to me like a Microstation problem - am I right?
I'm still using windows 7, but I think this has nothing to do with it - seems to me as if I pressed a wrong button ....
Help appreciated.
Best Regards
Carsten

For those of you who are seeing this issue could you provide the answer to the following two questions:
What type of computers are these? Desktop or laptop?
Are you using traditional keyboards or unusual special purpose keyboards?
i.e., Laptop keyboards often have “Fn” keys that change the top row of function keys from traditions F1-F12 or to special function like volume up/down, etc.
oops I meant usb wireless dongle for keyboards and mice
logitec keyboards and mice and Del laptop

To everyone we are sorry that you are experiencing this strange behavior, but we have not seen this with other users, nor have we been able to reproduce this internally. While we want to get a solution to this in might take time and the solution might not be forthcoming.
That being said, are any of you in an environment where you can use another computer to remotely access the computer or laptops in this case and drive commands, mouse clicks and keyboard entries in MicroStation? If you could try remotely accessing the machines to see if the behavior can be reproduced? If you can let me know what the results were when doing this, we can then look into setting up a remote share session to see if this can help to find the cause of the issue.

Sukhvinder,
Thanks for sharing this information.
Would you be in a position to try access this desktop from another computer to see if the same behavior occurs? This would help to narrow down if this is related to local hardware use or something with the actual commands sent by the keystrokes either local or remote computer.

Regie

Hi Reginald Wallace ,Is any update for us?Regards
before I retired I was almost tempted to remap the F1 key and have "delete" assigned to it instead of using the delete key on the keyboard which is its on opposite side to my free left hand and I dont want to change the mouse hand or add delete to the RMB , which is too many actions for a delete when the delete key stops working, alternative F1 its better than using the delete key.. not tested now retired from work... but it may be a good work around, as the esc key is set for cancel command in prefs, and I hate using the icon for delete... note however I never had problem with undo control Z and control R , always worked for me...
Hi Sukhvinder
No updates on this as we still have not replicated this behavior.

We are still awaiting someone who can reproduce the issue while using a keyboard remotely, this would give us more information.
