Zoom window from one view to another view, why don´t connect edition do the same as V8i ?

Hi all

I was supriced when zoom from ex, from view 1 (active view) with zoom window from target view 2 didn´t zoom in target window area from view 2 to view 1.

Example from V8i

Work as I am used to  works as I am used to in V8i

But in Connect edition it is like this ( nowhere near what I did in V8i):

The same function with zoom from one view from an another view don`t work i Connect edition, with the same user workflow.

WHY?

  • zoom from ex, from view 1 (active view) with zoom window from target view 2 didn´t zoom in target window area from view 2

Toms post if you want that to work then set it  as above and data point in active window 1 will zoom to or apply to view 2  per setting in dialog see his dialog he has the apply set to view 1 so all zooming will apply to view 1 not view 2 as he wanted it needs to be the apply window... so why are we going round in circles  your example has the apply to dialog to view 1 so all zooms not matter which window will zoom to the apply window in your example view 1.. which is as the help and your example and is what I've been saying...

the apply window no dialog is where it will apply the resultant zoom in...

  • so all zooming will apply to view 1 not view 2 as he wanted

but that's not what he said:

with zoom window from target view 2 didn´t zoom in target window area from view 2 to view 1.

He didn't write "didn't zoom in target window into View 2", whereas you seem to think he was trying to zoom into View 2, which he never wrote in his post, nor do any of the CONNECT screenshots show the Window Area dialog with Apply to Window set to View 2 either.

so why are we going round in circles

You wrote he was doing something wrong, yet see I nothing wrong in what he did (others have commented they do the same thing) and I'm wondering what you think he did wrong.
