Hi guys, I am currently working with microstation connect and windows 10.1 pro. I need your advice for something that I would like to do and I don t know yet how to do it.
basically I am working on a 2d dgn, and I have 2 issues
1st : I have a square surface from which I would like to remove another surface in this example a circle but it is gonna be a polygone surface in my project.
2nd: I need to split this surface so the square minus the circle into 8 "sub" surfaces in order to create a gml of less than 15sq meters which is necessary for a side app which need a surface of less than 15sq to work.
If you guys have ideas and willing to share these, I am all ears.
thanks anyways.
Are we talking about planar shapes, or actual surfaces like 3D topography?
Tool to be used: Create Region
If you provide a bit more info, I'll be able to give you a more definitive answer
Hi Barry,
Planar shapes
Hi Damien,
What shape are the final polygons i.e. when you intend to break the source polygon up into 8 pieces?
Rectangular slices, squares, triangles?
It doesn't matter as long as each of the 8 surfaces are less than 15sq meters
I can demonstrate the process, what isn't clear is the size of your source shapes, and how you determine that each portion will be <15sqm i.e is the 15sqm inclusive of the removed part of the outer shape, or only measured as the remainder?
