I just installed Open Roads. I have been using Microstation Connect Edition Update 16. I had a font called 101 Leroy that was linked to several of my line styles. It has now disappeared and has been replaced with 101 Feature_Control_Symbols. This has happened in the past when I upgraded to a newer version and I was able to correct it, but the path is no longer the same. Can anyone tell me how to retrieve the original font please?
Hi Jane,Thanks for your post.I think there are a couple of things to consider, but generally the approach would be the same for ORD when compared to regular MicroStation.First, what does the Message Center say? Is there anything here that can give you a clue about what font is missing?
Once you find some clues from the Message Center, you will need to determine the location of this font file on your machine. There are 3 types of font files to be aware of: RSC, SHX, & TTF.RSC - Bentley resource fileTTF - Windows true type fontSHX - Autodesk font fileOnce you have found the correct font file, copy the file's directory to your clipboard (for example, C:/Users/Jayson.Perry/Desktop/Fonts/)Next, open the application you are working with. Navigate to File>Settings>Configuration>Configuration Variables>Symbology category>MS_FONTPATHSelect this configuration variable, select "Edit", and then add a semicolon to the existing value and then paste your font file directory. The dialog will look something like this. I typically use the "Overwrite" Edit Mode, but you can also set this to Append/Prepend as well.
If you are working with custom line styles, another configuration variable to keep in mind would be MS_SYMBRSRC. This configuration variable reads .rsc resource files. MS_DGNLIBLIST is another config variable to keep in mind (for .dgnlib file pathways). I would check your configurations on the application that is working and compare it to the new application. Here is some more material for reference:

The way that I knew it was gone was that the text was messed up when I opened the file. The font that is gone is a Microstation font. It's name was 101 Leroy. Now it has been replaced with 101 Feature_Control_Symbols. The only Leroy font I can find now is a shx file. I used the font because it was in a set of fonts and line styles that the DOTD in Louisiana required. I have been able to find it and fix it in the past but now I cannot find where the Microstation fonts are in the progam files.
The font RSC may not be in the Program files if it was part of a client-delivered workspace. It would be located wherever those standards are stored. Depending on how that is all set up, it could be in the Workspace, the Workset, or somewhere else, but it will definitely be stored with the rest of the client standards.
Jayson is correct on how to "restore" that font once you find it. You may need to talk to whomever updated your computer to make sure they have you correctly set up to use the rest of the client standard as well. If it can't find the font, it may not be able to find other resources as well.

Hello Jane, I am having the same issue with the "101 Leroy" Font. It's also appearing as "101 Feature Symbol" in my LADOTD workspace. I have Leroy Font but for some reason on my computer when I open someone else's dgn. Leroy appears as "101 Feature Symbol" I can not find the 101 Feature font in the file location. I have to change text Attributes ever time.
Have you followed Jayson's recommendations? You may need to redefine your MS_FONTPATH variable to point to whatever RSC file has your Leroy font, instead of the default/delivered font RSC.
