I believe the new replacement should be ProjectWise Design Review (or called iTwin Design Review?) which is a web based. So every platform can access it without caring your current OS.

Below is a test for my own simple iModel.

iTwinjs is open source. Even though cloud ecosystem (iModelHub and related services) is closed and commercial, the open source part is still offers all main features. So I hope / assume more solutions, some simple, some tight to iModelHub, will be released in future.

It is true that Bentley plans for mobile world were fuzzy, still changing and not delivering any really great product.

But for iTwinjs, the plans and agenda are defined for a long time, shared publicly, and the only problem is that - as nearly all software development - it is delayed.

Especially in mobile devices (Android, iOS) the development is active, so maybe it would be possible to create own app even now (just a guess), and it is also possible to create iModel snapshop from MicroStation, so I think the available solution is quite close.

Try to contact Opendesign alliance they had ODA Android Viewer demo app which was almost usable. ODA development quality doesn't look very high thought.
Other option would be run PocketdDGN app on Windows CE emulator for Android but it will be complicated to set up.

I am aware of Bentley cloud services, but for my purposes is this solution way too robust and therefore extremely user unfriendly. Also because of my working environment, offline capability is crucial. Still I am not surprised at all, that instead of a simple solution I am offered unnecessarily complicated, overpriced product and plain promises...

Bentley Map was always "a half supported product" :-(

As I wrote earlier, Bentley's development effort is now focused to iTwin technology, based on iModel and BIS. Online viewer is functional already (tested on Android 12 with 3D data), and to support off-line devices is in the roadmap also. Personally I expect all current mobile and table products will move to this ecosystem in (near?) future.

Thak you for your reply. The dgn file I am using has the GCS assigned. It works well for kml export , but not with Map App.

Anyway, my tablet just updated to Android 12 and the Map App stopped working - problem solved.

Thank you for your reply. The dgn file I am trying to view of course has GCS assigned.(I should probably mention it in my original question). I am using EPSG:102067 and it works fine, while exporting drawing to KML or GeoPDF files. However with Map mobile I'm getting this no coordinate system message. Unfortunately, using EPSG:5514 leads to the same results.

Anyway, the problem above solved itself today, as (after Android 12 update) the Map app stopped working completely. I am not keeping my hopes up that will Bentley will release some update after 4 years of neglecting, so I am switching to a different application.

From Bentley there is no such app. Better convert to PDF or DWG.

You can try online service which converts to imodel but it is not instantly - https://review.itwin.bentley.com/home

No real workflow exists yet as Bentley share allows to view PDF only and DGN files are not viewable there.

as far as I know, there is no Android application supporting DGN format natively. At least none from Bentley, because as interchange and mobile format, i-model is always used.

If you do not want to use i-model, an option is to convert file to DWG and to use some from available DWG viewers.

Yes, because it's expected that every "geo DGN" has alwayas GCS assigned ;-)

As Kees van Prooijen [Bentley] wrote, you can assign GCS to a model in MicroStation easily. I guess it should be some from S-JTSK systems, which is EPSG:102067 or EPSG:5514.

I think there is no special "mobile forum". When Map Mobile is discussed, to use OpenCities Map forum is recommended.

In general, Bentley's target is to support iModel, through iModel Hub, based on iTwin.js technology, on all devices. But offline support is currently listed as planned feature, even though I assume to use web browser on table should be no problem when table is connected.

You can add a coordinate system to your DGN file using the Coordinate Systemtools (Drawing > Utilities > GeoGraphic > Coordinate System). A coordinate system is required to transform the DGN file to WGS84.
