Who can I speak to about this these days or have Bentley walked away from both??
Thanks,
Well, I've certainly not heard anything mentioned above the KE lately so I can only guess that the idea probably went the same way as the Dodo.
As noble as the concept of free license access sounds, its certainly not in keeping with Bentley's normal business approach; e.g. access to the SDK is locked behind a pay-wall so I would be extremely surprised if limited-duration license access would be provided for free, to anyone. That said, I can't think of any other similar CAD forums that ever gave out rewards to users either, that I'm aware of at least.
The KE was meant to be more. One of the things discussed was what Bentley could give back to KE members. One suggestion was access to licenses. For me, having been through a long stretch of unemployment , being able to still work on build development and keeping my eye in for work would have been an advantage.
This time around I may not be back in a CAD Admin role for an unknown length of time and I'd like to continue my work on my Connect builds and blogs, but license access is an issue again.
Similar, I would like access to my SR list, which I don't get unless I'm in a CAD Admin role.
Out of curiosity, what are you hoping for? Was the KE/MVP thing ever more than just the issuing of a badge?
Nice to see you still around Jon.
IT would be nice to get some direction and feedback on what and where Bentley see this all going. I read on another page that Bentley seems to be handing out other accolades to some.

I thought that perhaps I would meet more girls at parties. Well, that never happened...

I don't see any evidence that it's going anywhere. The MVP programme started in the days of Phil Chouinard, but Bentley Systems fired him along with other contributors to the Bentley-user interface a good few years ago.
As for we Knowledge Executives, it was never clear to me that a new piece of jargon was required. How is a Knowledge Executive different to MVP? MVP is used by many organizations, but Knowledge Executive is unique to Bentley AFAIK.
Should I introduce myself to girls at parties as a Knowledge Executive? Would that go down well?
