All,
Where can I find the option to change the default colour used by the element type "placement points" (ref.)?By default it uses colour level 51, however I've been unable to find the setting where I can change this to be a different level.
I've tried changing the active colour/level while placing placement points and looked in Settings > user > preferences as well as checking if there was a configuration variable under "placement" that would affect this, all yielded no results.
Does anyone know if this is possible?Regards,
Remy
Hi Remi,
I am not sure I understand your question. When you place a point, you can select the color from the attributes section prior to place the point. See screen shot.
If you need to change the color once the points have been placed, you can do it from the Properties tab by selecting the points and changing color from the general tab.
Are you getting any alert from Message center regarding changing the attribute color? Check https://communities.bentley.com/products/microstation/w/microstation__wiki/35366/how-to-find-message-center

Hi Maria,Thank you for your reply. Yes for normal Line elements this works fine, however I mean the default colour for the element handles being place for the element type "Placement Point" Introduced as a tech. preview in update 15 and release in 16 (see the announcement here)It's about the (rather small) gray dots on the element line as marked in the screenshot:If I change the colour through the attributes it will change, however I'm interested in setting the default colour for it, so I don't have to change it through the attributes. As my line colour is set to green we can see that this colour isn't used when placing "Placement points" Regards,Remy
Hi Remy,
I see, you meant Placement points in Parametric components.
Yeah I have the same results as you mentioned, I tested placing a few of them and I always get the same color by default red (51).
I honestly could not find any way of setting the default color but I will pass you question to development to verify if it is hard coded.
As confirmed by development the default color of Placement Point for Parametric Components is hard coded.
I have filed PRODUCT BACKLOG ITEM 936192 and linked this with a SR to follow up with you
