If I Select Insert field the suffix is gone. (you need to fix this in the Field settings through text editor (again and again)

Yet modifying the area does update the field for me (although "Field Update Automatically" is false for my model)

That reminds me of the question of Mary B. lately if Bentley is testing the functionality in Production enviroment. Or has done so lately. As far as I remember that was never the case. (Hence we became all Masters of Workarounds)
Many great Ideas often lacking practical usabilty.
On some levels, we users are paying to beta test Bentley products...

Yes we pay for beta testing, and at obvious levels, we also pay for beta testing. The non-beta testing of Microstation CE has cost me more than the beta testing of any other version.

Yes, with hours working around issues (or finding workarounds), filing tickets or trying to help other circumfence the "beta"-pitfalls.
The silly thing is....
It took me <1 minute to test this new feature and find issues with it, another 2 minutes to raise it here and then all your time in replying.
BENTLEY INVOLE US IN BETA TESTING, SO WE DONT HAVE TO USE SECOND RATE TOOLS THAT COULD BE FIX PRIOR TO COMMERCIAL RELEASE.
If we can find issues in seconds it proves you (Bentley) are not carrying out your own QA tests to the same level your users would.
We simply want it to work and work better than your competition or you lose your user base.

Could you please post the things you would like to see with the area tools to the Ideas forum so that we can get a feel for how other users feel about your recommendations? This will also be a good indicator of which ones get filed as change request.
