In U17, if I have a reference cut or copied to clipboard, when trying to paste the reference, there's an error message saying "Element type is not valid for this tool", snapshot below:
However, if I switch to V8i, the same reference copied/cut into clipboard from U17 can be pasted into V8i. Just wondering if there's already a bug filed for this?
Best regards,
Tuan Le
are you copying and pasting from one file to another ? or copying and pasting inside the same file ?

Both (same file / different files) don't work in CE, but work in V8i.
in v8i we had to have a temp file defined in the config to create the clipboard.dgn mine was C:\Temp\
in v8i and I just looked in my CE config and it has C:\Temp defined
But you need to have the folder actually exist and defined... not sure this is your problem but its just one more thing to tick off the list

Thanks for that Lorys. I had a look and the folders are defined and exist for both V8i and CE. Kicker is I can cut/copied a reference from CE into V8i, but not from CE into CE.
And all testing was done using default config from Bentley (Metrostation for CE and Untitled for V8i SS10)
Does not seem to work in Connect. Sure would like to see it work.
