Hi All,
We have several devices now running Microstation v 10 & Auto Cad, the devices are approaching the end of life.Does anyone have a recommended PC specification they could advise, I want to make sure we don't under resource ourselves and on the flip side I don't want to overkill the specification, especially on the graphics card?
thanks in advance
Look at the Wikis:
MicroStation V8i System Requirements and Hardware Recommendations
MicroStation CONNECT Edition System Requirements
The hardware requirements for AutoCAD are typically higher than for MicroStation. If you get a computer that meets the AutoCAD requirements you will be fine for MicroStation.
That being said, for either I would use the 16GB RAM recommended by Bentley as the minimum, and no less than 2GB video RAM on the graphics card.
You will want to up those minimums if you are using LumenRT or doing a lot of 3D rendering.

Microstation can utilize full PC power only while rendering or 3D modelling. For other tasks have not noticed any big differences. In CONNECT edition attaching large rasters is slow even on computer with 128GB RAM.For graphics cards would stay away from Intel video if doing 3D modelling but could use Intel it for 2D and view only 3D (attachments, Point clouds etc).
Budget wise would be to look for AMD processor and graphics.
edit: Just got exception on new HP PC in Event viewer(Faulting module name: d3d11.dll) on Intel UHD 750 running v8i SS10 on Windows 10. So yes can try Intel at first but check if error is not related to GPU if so then need to install dedicated video.
