Hi Folks
When trying to copy any element to the clip board I get a "File is read only" error message. We tried using the keyboard short cut ctrl + C, Copy to clipboard tool & drag and drop to another .dgn file getting the same error. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Edele
Opened a file read only, selected an element, copied to clipboard, opened another file (not read only), pasted element just fine.

Hi Bob Yes it doesn't matter if i'm in a read only drawing or not.. I am still unable to copy content...other users in my company aren't having the same problem, so it seems to be something specific to me.. but not sure what it could be

MicroStation uses a temporary DGN file when copying using the Windows clipboard. The file is in the folder pointed at by configuration variable MS_TMP.
MS_TMP

The folder that MS_TMP points to may not exist on your computer or may be read-only. Check its value on your computer and compare with the value on the computers where it's working.
