1. Attach Ref file. The Ref file has one nested attachment.
2. In the Ref Dialog, set the Ignore when Live Nesting attribute for the nested attachment.
3. Ctrl F
4. Close and reopen. The attachment still loads and the setting has been cleared.
Bummer!
When the setting is set, the attachment should be still visible, greyed out, but not cleared.
The Ignore when Live Nesting is a good way to speed up loading files with large attachments. Also, a good way to control what is loaded as means to configuration management.
I know that you can also tell Mstn not to load an attachment if all three Display, Snap and Location settings are cleared. but the nested Attachements further down the hierarchy would still clog up the Ref dialog, slowing things down again.
The setting set in the active model should act like a local override. The setting in the attached model would not be affected. Lots of Ref attachment settings work like this so hopefully not a problem to implement?
Hi Dominic,
when I set Ignore when Live Nesting attribute for the nested attachment, close and reopen file, this setting is still on. Which version of MS are you currently using?
Just tried it again. The Ignore when Live nesting setting was cleared.
OBD 9.2, Mstn 16.3?
Another bug or WAD?
Changed Live Nesting to 5. But Mstn does not does attach the nested Refs if one of the nested Refs has Live Nesting turned off.
